Foreword

This code was completed by China Mobile Group Design Institute，Co.，Ltd.and relevant organizations according to the requirements of Document JIAN BIAO［2011］NO.17 issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban and Rural Development-Notice on Printing the Development and Revision Plan of National Engineering Construction Standards in 2011.

In preparing this code，the drafting team conducted in-depth research and investigations，conscientiously reviewed the application and development of submarine optical cable communication technologies，solicited opinions from relevant organizations and experts nationwide，and consulted many relevant domestic and international standards and regulations before finalizing the draft.

This code comprises eleven chapters with main contents as follows:general provisions，terms and symbols，system configuration and system categorization，digital transmission system design，submarine cable line design，performance parameters of digital transmission system and cable line，requirements for landing station and its auxiliary facilities，installation of terminal station equipment，design of power feeding system，design of auxiliary systems，and maintenance tools and test instruments.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development is in charge of the administration of this code；the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is responsible for its routine management；and China Mobile Group Design Institute Co.，Ltd.is responsible for the explanation of specific technical contents.
