4.5 Line Terminal Equipment

4.5.1 SLTE shall be selected according to the following basic requirements:

1 Terminal equipment shall be technically advanced,safe,reliable,cost-effective and easy to operate and maintain;

2 Equipment supplier shall be capable of providing equipment upgrade,network management system upgrade,technical R&D,and after-sale services;

3 Terminal equipment shall have flexible configuration with as fewer hardware varieties as possible and be convenient for capacity expansion and upgrade;

4 Terminal equipment shall meet relevant domestic technical requirements for SDH or WDM systems;and

5 Terminal Equipment shall be compliant with the principle and requirements of energy conservation and emission reduction.

4.5.2 For rack-mounted equipment,the height of the rack should be 2,600mm,2,200mm,or 2,000mm,the depth should be 300mm or 600mm,and the width should be 600mm.Racks in the same equipment room should be of the same height.

4.5.3 The overall structure of the terminal equipment shall be convenient for installation,maintenance,and expansion or adjustment;hardware shall have a modular design with sufficient mechanical strength and rigidity.The electromagnetic compatibility of the equipment shall comply with relevant stipulations in the current national standard of Electromagnetic Compatibility Requirement and Measurement Methods for Telecommunication Network EquipmentGB 19286.

4.5.4 Terminal equipment shall provide an in-service monitoring interface of main optical path and a DCC interface.

4.5.5 Terminal equipment in a repeatered submarine cable system shall have an interface for cable line monitoring.

4.5.6 Terminal equipment in a repeaterless WDM submarine system shall be able to collect the data of optical power and OSNR of each channel and the data shall be viewed in the network management system.

4.5.7 Terminal equipment in a repeatered WDM submarine system shall be able to collect the optical power and FEC data of each channel and the data shall be viewed in the network management system.

4.5.8 For the terminal equipment in a coherent detection WDM system,the chromatic dispersion tolerance and DGD tolerance should be larger than the accumulated dispersion and DGD of the cable line respectively.

4.5.9 Optical amplifiers and Raman amplifiers shall bear clear safety signs.

When the fiber is cut off,or the equipment is at fault,or the optical connector is pulled out,an automatic power reduction process shall be launched and the process shall be able to be re-launched automatically or manually.
