Foreword

This code is prepared by Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute in collaboration with associated organizations as required by the Notice on Development and Revision Plan of National Standards for Engineering Construction in 2007(the second batch) issued by the former Ministry of Construction(JB[2007] 126).

This code has been developed through multiple special studies,investigation and sum-up of engineering hydrology-related experience and lessons from domestic and foreign nuclear power plants,adoption of recent scientific results of engineering hydrology for nuclear power plants,extensive consultations from competent authorities in charge of design,survey,scientific research as well as water resources and ocean across the country and a number of discussions and revisions,and finalized after review.

This code is organized into 9 chapters,mainly including General,Terms,Hydrologic Survey,Design Basis Flood,Design Basis Low Water Level,Water Source,Sediment and Beach Stability,Hydrologic Observation and Representative Station,as well as Contents and Requirements at Each Engineering Stage of Nuclear Power Plant Engineering.

This code isadministrated by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China.China Electricity Council is responsible for its daily management,and Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute is responsible for the interpretation of specific technical issues therein.During the implementation of this code,the interests concerned are expected to seriously summarize experience and collect relevant information based on the project practices and refer any comments and suggestions to Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute at the address:No.65,Ande Road,Xicheng District,Beijing,Postcode:100120,for reference in the future revision of the code.
